Sabes Que... Did you know?, is about the history of Latin music and its entrance to the country in the early 1900’s. It’s about Latin music composers, their contributions and their music.

Jessie Bermudez is Cuban- Puerto Rican raised in Philadelphia. He has over forty years’ experience working with Latin artist around the world – with a wealth of experience on stage production, festival production, consulting work on Latino entertainment, and radio host of “Sonido Diferente” Mega 1310 and “Taste of Latin” WNWR World Radio.

Mr. Bermudez is the founder of Association de Musicos Latino Americanos (AMLA). The first Latin Music School, in Pennsylvania, now currently under Artistas y Musicos Latino Americanos – the AMLA School of Performing Arts. He has received numerous awards for his work. His live recordings of Papo Vazquez and the Mighty Pirate Orchestra was nominated in 2008 for a Grammy, for best live Latin Jazz recording.

In 2012, he received the lifetime Achievement Award from the National Association of Latin Arts and Culture (NALAC). In 2014 he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Hispanic Choice Awards. On July 8th The City of Philadelphia declared this day “The Jesse Bermudez Day,” for his outstanding contribution to Latin music, declaring this day, the official week of Salsa in Philadelphia, “Siempre Salsa Philly.”
