  • The first debate between President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden will be held tonight at 9:00 p.m. EDT. The debate will be the first of three and will be held at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. The debate will be hosted by Fox News host Chris Wallace.
  • Dr. Anthony Fauci has said that the United States is “not in a good place” in regards to coronavirus in a recent statement. The statement comes after a surge of cases in multiple states throughout the county and fears that the colder months will see a massive spike in the number of cases, mostly due to more gatherings in small areas. While the Sun Belt area of the country has seen a decline in cases, states in the Midwest and West have seen an increase in cases connected to relaxed restrictions on mask mandates and public gatherings. Dr. Fauci said that the country has an “unacceptably high” number of new cases in the last few weeks.
  • Early voting in Philadelphia has started off with a few errors and problems. Votes had to wait hours in line to cast their votes on Tuesday morning and issues with the voter database caused a major delay in votes and mail-in ballot registrations. Pennsylvania, a swing state, is being watched on a national stage to make sure voting goes smoothly and without issues going forward.
  • The City of Philadelphia has decided to allow restaurants to operate with 50% capacity for indoor dining starting on Friday. The decision comes in an effort to aid in the economic recovery of the city and to help small business owners make more of a profit during the COVID pandemic. Diners will have to stay 6 feet away from other diners not in their party and to wear a mask when not eating.
