Britt James Carpenter was born and raised in the Lehigh Valley. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in English/Education with minors in Marketing and Psychology. Britt is a long time resident of Philadelphia and has been and advocate and focused on betterment and cohesion within the community. After leaving a 17 year career in for profit education, he embarked on several entreprenuerial opportunities.
Currently, he owns and operates Muttropolitan Pet Sitting, which has been serving Philly since 2012. He is a board member for the Morris Animal Refuge and participates in many philanthropic activities. In addition, he is the founder and director of the Philly Unknown Project, which is a 501c3 non-profit organization that works closely with the homeless and those in need, as well as those in active addiction. He spends a lot of time working on the front lines on the streets with those in need and organizes many community events and outreach initiatives.
Britt was a central focal character in a docu-series by Voice of America called "The Damage Done; The Unwanted," which was filmed to bring awareness to the opioid crisis in our country and more so in our community. He also founded and operates a successful community focused Instagram account called Philly Unknown that encourages people to be the best they can be at all times. He enjoys spending time with his three dogs and loves doing outdoor activities and is an avid traveler. In his spare time you can find him roaming the city taking pics or just finding the next best brunch spot.
