Ligia Carolina Delgado was born in Caracas. She studied communications in Central University of Venezuela and later came to the States to complete her studies in the 80’s. With a degree in communications, from the University of Northern Colorado, she worked as an anchor for KJJD Radio 1170 AM, covering the Denver Broncos training camp for two years. In this position, she wrote & translated in Spanish and interviewed pro players. In addition, Ligia produced a daily news program for the station. She then moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where she worked at Telemundo as the anchor for the morning news.
Established now in Philadelphia, she is a full-time professor at St. Joseph’s Prep School where she teaches several levels of the Spanish language, as well as Latin American Literature and Culture, as part of her highly successful AP Spanish IV level class. Her love for traveling and social service to local and international communities in Latin America, has driven the International Exchange Program, at her school, to become the first in the region to have a university-style full language immersion and service exchange program for the last 10 years.
